PLEASE JOIN US IN HELPING ANASTASIA'S FAMILY TO REACH THIS GOAL
Anastasia's parents, Christina and Angelo have created a fund in her honor which will be used to build a special lead-lined room (at Cohen's Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park, Long Island) for children in need of a specific kind of intense radiation treatment, called MIBG therapy. There are currently only a dozen of these units in the country. By reaching our goal, we would not only help solidify Anastasia's legacy but we would also help families from all over the Northeast to have the ability to receive MIBG therapy closer to home. Battling cancer is tough enough for a child and their family to endure, so let's do everything we can do to help. Only 4% of cancer research funding is actually dedicated to childhood cancer. Please follow this link to read more about Anastasia and to donate to her legacy fund. To quote Danny Thomas, the founder of St. Jude's Children's Hospital, "Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It's what you do for others. We truly appreciate your support!
In July of 2015, we hosted a 1920's-themed charity poker tournament at Tanner Smith's in New York City, in connection with their Grand Opening celebration. Between sponsorship and public donations, we raised thousands of dollars, a large portion of which was donated to Anastasia's legacy fund. The remaining donations were put towards our second "Awareness for Anastasia" event that we created (below). Based on the positive response of the patrons and participants at Tanner Smith's that night, we have solidified this classy Manhattan bar/restaurant as our home for the entire second season of The Fund Rounders Poker Series. Landsharks are going to love the 1920's style and sophistication of Tanner Smith's. We hope to see you there!!!
Together with the Juniper Valley Civic Association, The Maspeth High School Green Club, New York City Parks and local volunteers, Fund Rounders recently helped organize and execute a tree planting in recognition of childhood cancer awareness month (September). The beautiful Kwanzan cherry tree was dedicated in Anastasia's memory.
