Hello Fund Rounders! We have just concluded our 2016 Fund Rounders Poker Series @ Tanner Smith's in New York City! We will be partnering up with (one or more) charities for this year's series, as well as numerous local businesses and media outlets. While this fundraising series was created to generate funding for worthy organizations, Fund Rounders main objective is to focus on actualizing public awareness and massive media attention on their behalf. Over the course of the next few months, we are poised to raise over $10,000 in donations and sponsorship, while producing a highly skilled poker champion who will compete at the highest level of the game as a member of Team Landshark.
Here's how it works:
1. By registering for one of our FRPS events, you will have an opportunity to participate in a free poker event, helping us raise awareness (and additional funds) on behalf of our network of charities.
* Every player will receive 7500 in chips - There are no add-ons or daily second chances
* Registration for each event closes after one hour of play
* Receive a free Fund Rounders gift for pre-registering here on our website.
2. Event attendees will eat & drink at their own expense, while playing for points and donated 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes at every event. Fund Rounders representatives will be present at all times, searching for skillful card players who could potentially earn sponsorship as a member of Team Landshark. Points certainly have weight but ultimately it's skill and personality that will represent our network of charities at the FRPS Championship Final Table.
* There will be 9 local events this season, where you can show support and/or get involved.
* Prizes will be given to select participants, based on their skill and various accomplishments
* Landsharks are competing for a chance to participate in our Fund Rounders Poker Series Championship on May 16, 2016. This event will be open-to-the-public for viewing, but only Landsharks that have earned enough points over the first nine tournaments of the season will compete for the FRPS Grand Prize.
3. We will choose NINE lucky Landsharks to receive sponsorship into The Fund Rounders Poker Series Championship. These Landsharks will be offered a seat at The FRPS Championship Final Table. Our 2015 FRPS Champion John Kachmar will also be seated at the Final Table in 2016. The last Fund Rounders Landshark standing will receive the 2016 Landshark trophy AND receive a sponsorship ($3,500 ticket) into a World Poker Tour Championship at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in September 2016 ($3 Million Guaranteed prize pool).
* Being that our focus is on raising awareness AND additional funding for our network of charities, all of our Team Landshark players will have previously agreed, upon signing their participation agreement, to donate 50% of their (potential) prize money earned at the WPT Championship Event to Fund Rounders, for charitable distribution.
4. Each Landshark (and a guest) will be invited to join us at our FRPS dinner prior to the Final Table on May 16, 2016, celebrating our successful fundraising efforts over the course of the year.
* Additional photo opportunities & media interviews will take place at this time.

The Fund Rounders Poker Series campaign is an annual series of fundraisers that Fund Rounders conceptualized and continues to develop. We are determined to raise wide-spread awareness about causes that need attention and the worthy organizations that dedicate their time and efforts toward those causes. By competing in some the world's largest annual poker tournaments, Team Landshark is aiming to win BIG on behalf of Fund Rounders and our growing network of charities. Our roster of regional champions will consist of highly skilled amateur (and pro) poker players who have demonstrated that they have the patience and ability needed to compete at the highest level of the sport. We are confident that this campaign will create massive media attention, while continuing to generate significant funding and support for our network, each and every season. We are extremely excited to send a group of experienced, battle-tested Team Landshark poker players to a WPT Championship in Atlantic City New Jersey, this September. Regardless of winnings, we will continue making change, every... single... day!
Making change.

Fund Rounders is a non-profit organization focused on actualizing altruism through unique and effective fundraising campaigns, creating wide-spread awareness. Altruism is the principle or practice of concern for the welfare of others. It is a traditional virtue in many cultures, and a core aspect of various religious traditions. French philosopher Auguste Comte coined the term. He felt that “to live for others is for all of us a constant duty” and “the definitive formula of human morality.” His motto of positivism was, “L'amour pour principe et l'ordre pour base; le progrès pour but ” (“Love as a principle and order as the basis; Progress as the goal.") Many still believe in these words today.

Creating unique fundraisers, such as Landshark's World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Campaign and the Occupy The Spotlight Benefit Concert Series, Fund Rounders is dedicated to conceptualizing and executing relevant and effective fundraising campaigns, assisting and influencing as many organizations and individuals as we can, for years to come. We are proven facilitators who believe in fighting for positive social transformation and the pursuit of happiness. Along with your help, and the skill of our Fund Rounders poker team, we pledge to do our best to raise funds and educate others, every single day, making change, in every way that we can.

The primary way we plan to substantiate Fund Rounders' efforts is through the the annual "Landshark's World Series Of Poker Campaign". The WSOP Main Event is the largest annual prize pool that an individual poker player can play for, and win, at one time. The 2012 WSOP Main Event winner, Greg Merson (25) won over $8.5 million. Planning to participate in the Main Event annually, Fund Rounders is not only looking to utilize its huge media platform to reach the masses, but potentially, use our poker skill to raise significant funding for the charities that we are representing in this year's campaign. Of course, looking to grow Fund Rounders efforts, we will add more players to our team every year, therefore increasing our ability to donate funding, and creating more publicity for the campaign and its participating charities. We realize that there are countless worthy organizations around the globe requiring financial assistance, so we are simply going to start out small, keep growing our efforts, and aim BIG!
We remain confident that upon the completion of this campaign in 2014, Fund Rounders will become an immediate force to be reckoned with in the poker and fundraising communities. When Landshark, or any other Fund Rounders player, "cashes" in the tournament, the donations will be split into equal parts, always, and then awarded to participating charities. Another great aspect of this WSOP campaign, if we do not place "in the money" in the Main Event tournament, each player will still have raised a guaranteed minimum of $13,000 in public donations for participating charities. More importantly, they will have provided an extremely valuable amount of promotional value and public awareness for each and every one of these worthy causes.

Transformative Action has three basic components: (1) breaking the silence that surrounds injustice, (2) building an inclusive movement where adversaries become allies, and (3) articulating an inspiring, proactive vision. It combines the best aspects of nonviolent strategy, positive psychology, and social innovation. Many of the greatest thinkers in our history have shared their thoughts on charity work and fundraising as it relates to progression and our personal duty to exist, think, and act on behalf of one another. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, " Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism, or in the darkness of destructive selfishness." Howard L. Jones was quoted as saying, "Fundraising requires both optimism and realism. Without the first, few if any gift solicitation efforts would be made. Without the second, few if any would succeed."
We are optimists.
Fund Rounders realizes that the first step in solving real problems of the world that need our immediate attention is to recognize those problems. It is critical that we find more ways to work together to tackle the issues of society, and truly take care of one another. Through hosting concerts, comedy shows, sporting events and poker tournaments, we plan to educate more people about these important issues, bring the organizations that focus on these issues into the spotlight, and help keep them there. If we lead by example, and each give a little of ourselves for the greater good, we can progress toward a happier, healthier existence, for all.
Another great quote I've recently come to appreciate comes from Franklin D. Roosevelt. He said, “The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.” We strive to be the change we want to see; by supporting the actions of the active. We are looking to promote positive influence by being educators in our communities, daily. It is not a perfect life, but it absolutely is a beautiful life. We need to stand together for progression's sake.
